FLT extension Tour "Golden Rock"

Yangon - Kyaiktiyo Pagoda - Yangon (by car, mandatory public transport and walking)

Day 1. Yangon - Kyaiktiyo - Golden Rock Pagoda (by car, public truck and walking)
Day 2. Golden Rock - Bago - Yangon (by walking, public truck and car)

Day 1. In the morning depart from Yangon to the Kyaiktiyo (Golden Rock) Pagoda. You will go by car via Kyaiktho town to reach the "Kim Pun" base camp (around 4 to 5 hours drive). There you will have to leave your car and join a public, open truck for the ride up the mountain. Walk for another hour up the hill to the Golden Rock Pagoda, located at around 1100 meters above sea level. (those who wish can ask to be carried by sedan chair - additional charges apply).
A small stupa was built on a large boulder, which seems falling down any moment.
Legend has it that the boulder keeps its balance due to a Buddha hair. You will observe pilgrims praying, lighting candles and putting thin gold leaves on the boulder.

Enjoy the sunset at the Pagoda and walk to your hotel near the Golden Rock or 45 Minutes below. Please bring a torch!
Lunch and Dinner on your own account and overnight stay near Kyaiktiyo Pagoda.

Day 2. After breakfast, take the public truck back to the base camp and return with your car to Yangon via Bago town.
Your visit to Bago includes the local market, Shwethalyaung a reclining Buddha image and Shwemawdaw Pagoda, a Mon style stupa.
Return to Yangon (80 km - 1.5 hours from Bago)
Lunch and Dinner on your own account.

Remark: In the winter months you may need a pullover and maybe also a jacket!

• Breakfast at hotel

• English speaking local guide including all miscellaneous cost for the guide.

• Entrance fees in Kyaiktiyo and Bago and camera fees

• Transport (private car as advised / shared public truck transport as mentioned in the itinerary / luggage handling included)

• Bottled drinking water & refreshing towels in normal quantities

Excluded:

• Personal expenses such as beverages, laundry and souvenirs and tips

• Meals (Lunch / Dinner)

• Accommodation at departure and arrival points (as usually included in the main tour)

• CHARTERED public truck and sedan chairs at Golden Rock

• If guests wish to alter the itinerary, extra charges may apply.
